Privacy Policy

The short version

HandyConvert has no user accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, and no database. We do not ask for your name or email address and we do not collect personal information. The calculators run entirely in your browser.

Information stored on your device

Our tools use your browser’s localStorage to remember your language, your dark-mode preference, and your last-used calculator values, so the site is convenient on your next visit. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Cookies and consent

In keeping with Quebec’s Law 25, non-essential cookies are off by default. On your first visit a consent banner appears; analytics and advertising cookies are blocked until you choose to allow them. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and you can review or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are used and how the site performs, in aggregate. Analytics never loads unless you grant consent for that category.

Advertising

HandyConvert is supported by advertising. With your consent, we display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can control personalised advertising through Google My Ad Center.

Third-party services

Pages are delivered through the Cloudflare content delivery network, and fonts and the Alpine.js library are loaded from public CDNs. These providers may process your IP address as a necessary part of serving the page to you. Some of these providers store data outside Quebec.

Your rights under Law 25

Because we do not collect or hold personal information about you, there is no personal file to access or correct. You retain full control of the data stored on your own device and of your cookie consent, which you can change or withdraw at any time. If you believe we hold information about you, you may contact us to ask about access or rectification.

Who is responsible for privacy

A person responsible for the protection of personal information oversees this policy. Privacy questions, requests, or complaints can be sent through our contact page. You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Children

HandyConvert is a general-audience reference site and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it. Significant changes affecting cookies will also prompt the consent banner again.
