Terms of Use
Last updated: 19 May 2026
About these terms
These terms of use govern your access to and use of HandyConvert (the “site”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
What HandyConvert provides
HandyConvert offers free online calculators and unit converters for home, construction, cooking, and finance topics. The site is provided for general informational purposes. There are no accounts and no sign-up, and the calculators run in your browser. We may change, add, or remove tools and features at any time without notice.
Estimates, not professional advice
The results produced by our calculators are estimates for general information only. They are not engineering, construction, architectural, financial, mortgage, tax, or legal advice, and they are no substitute for the judgement of a qualified professional. Building and renovation figures must be verified against your actual materials, your site conditions, and the building codes and permits that apply where you live, with a qualified contractor, engineer, or local building authority. Financial figures, including any mortgage results, are illustrative only — actual rates, payments, insurance premiums, and eligibility are set by lenders and vary, so confirm them with a qualified mortgage professional or your lender before making any decision. Always verify results before cutting materials, making a purchase, or entering into any financial commitment.
No warranty
The site and its calculators are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be accurate, complete, error-free, secure, or available without interruption, or that results will meet your needs or expectations. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HandyConvert and the person operating it will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of profit, materials, time, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the site, or from any reliance on its calculators or results, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. You use the site and its tools at your own risk.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the site lawfully and not to misuse it. In particular, you must not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its server, and you must not use automated means to scrape or republish its content or tools on a large scale.
Intellectual property
The site — including its calculators, text, layout, and design — is owned by its operator and is protected by intellectual property law. You may use the site freely for your own personal or professional projects. You may not copy, reproduce, or republish the site, or substantial parts of its content, as your own.
Advertising and links to other sites
The site is supported by advertising and may display ads served by Google AdSense and its partners. It may also link to websites we do not operate. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party advertisements, products, or websites, or for their content or practices. Any dealings you have with advertisers or third-party sites are solely between you and them.
Privacy
Your use of the site is also covered by our Privacy Policy, which you can open from the footer of any page. It explains how cookies and consent are handled and confirms that we do not collect personal information.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the “last updated” date above will change. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws that apply where you live.
